Teacher: Shaine Donoho
Assistant Teacher: Debbie Leonard
My name is Shaine Donoho. I graduated from Mississippi University for Women in 2006 with a degree in Elementary Education. This is my sixth year to teach first grade. My family and I have a special love for ACS because my son graduated with ACS's first 8th grade class a couple of years ago. Our first grade schedule is more structured than kindergarten. I have high expectations for your learning as well as your behavior, but don't worry we will take it one step at a time together and help each other as we go forward. As always, I use Arts Captivating Spirits and the Multiple Intelligences to help me plan all our fun activities for the year and to help each child become a great Autonomous Learner. Annunciation is really more than just a school. The faculty, staff, and students became part of our family. We hope this will be true for you.
Teacher: Lauren Colloredo
My name is Lauren Colloredo, and I am so excited to be teaching first grade at Annunciation Catholic School this year! I graduated from Mississippi State University in May 2016 with my Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education. This is my second year of teaching, and also my second year teaching at Annunciation. Last year, I taught second grade; however, this year I will be teaching first grade! I couldn't have imagined a better first year of teaching. It truly is a family here at ACS! I am so thankful that God led me to such a special place right after graduating from college.
My goal for our classroom will be to provide an optimal learning environment for your child that will be both challenging and nurturing. My philosophy for education is simple: I want children to WANT to learn. I do this by providing engaging and fun activities for students in the learning environment. I am looking forward to a year full of fun and learning!
