Curriculum
In Compliance with the Diocese of Jackson and the Mississippi Department of Education, ACS provides the following:
Traditional Core Subjects: Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies
Gifted Program: All students participate in a school wide gifted program through the Atonomous Learners Model
Special Courses: Art, Library, Music, and Physical Education
Technology: Integrated technology program reinforces classroom content as students learn word processing, multi-media presentations,create databases and explore appropriate educational Internet sites.
Faith Formation: Daily religion classes, weekly liturgies, and sacramental preparation.
Support Services: Part-time Testing/Special Needs Coordinator, Title I remediation, private piano, voice,flute and guitar, and After Hours program. Support also provided on-site for identified students through The Columbus Municipal School District.

Instructional Strategies
Autonomous Learner Model (ALM): An innovative, research-based approach to learning that focuses on teaching students to be life long learners.
Differentiated Instruction: A teaching concept in which the classroom teacher plans for the diverse needs of the students.
Multiple Intelligences: A concept that allows the teachers to teach and assess students based on individual intellectual strengths and weaknesses.
Personalized Learning: Small group instruction, remediation, independent projects and cooperative groups.
Arts in the Classroom (AIC): Through the use of art (including performing art), AIC is an instructional strategy that enriches the cultural education of our students and enhances all subject areas. We have a team of teachers that were specifically trained to implement this unique approach throughout our school.
