During the week of October 20th, students are asked to consider donating their loose change to help feed the hungry around the world. There will be a donation bucket in each classroom. Thank you for helping make a difference! www.crosscatholic.org/worldfoodday
Annunciation Catholic School scored above average in all subject areas on the Stanford Achievement Test, which is taken by schools across the country. We take the test in September to determine what information students retained over the summer break and to evaluate whether adjustments in class and/or individual curriculum need to be made. Subjects included reading, math, language, spelling, science, social studies, listening, and thinking. Students average scores were in the upper quarter or third percentile as compared to the national average.
Many ACS Students Duke TIP and John Hopkins Eligible
Of our 2nd through 8th grade students who took the SAT, thirty percent (30%) qualified for the John Hopkins Center for Talented Youth Talent Search program, which requires students test in the top 95th percentile in the nation. Duke has a similar program called TIP for 4th through 6th graders. Forty-one percent (41%) of our students qualified for the Duke TIP program. Over half of the students who qualified, scored in the top 5% in more than one testing subject. Congratulations to our students who were invited to enroll in one or both of the programs!
