Ms. Dorothy Damm, Kindergarten Assistant

This is my first year at ACS, and I am excited to transition from home and volunteer educator to the classroom setting. I bring 10 years of experience supporting individuals and families through pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, breastfeeding, and aging-related needs. I have served as an eldercare provider, doula (childbirth professional), home educator to my four children, lactation specialist, and catechist.

For the past four years, I have been involved in children’s faith formation at my home parish of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Starkville. As a certified Level I and II Catechist through Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, I guide young parishioners to experience God’s love through the Montessori approach, which supports developmentally appropriate engagement with the liturgy and Scripture.

I am an alumna of MSU, where I graduated with a degree in Anthropology.

As a kindergarten assistant teacher, I hope to help the children enjoy reading, develop skills for peer interaction, feel loved and excited about coming to school.
