ACS is honored to be voted Best Preschool and Among the Best Private Schools by The Commercial Dispatch and its subscribers. Second grade teacher, Jenni Browning was voted Among the Best Elementary Teachers!

Staff Spotlight

ACS would like to welcome STREAM Coordinator, Dr. Hope Durst! Hope is a product of Annunciation Catholic School (1991-1997). She is a lifelong resident of Columbus, and a member of Annunciation Catholic Church. She is a graduate of Mississippi State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in English and Social Studies, a master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction, and a doctoral degree. She previously taught in public education as a middle school English Language Arts teacher as well as worked at MSU in higher education.

Scholastic Summer Reading

Today is the day we've all been waiting for since last September! Scholastic Summer Reading has officially begun, and we want that Best in State title, again! ACS has dominated in minutes read for the state of MS for the past FIVE years. Let's make it SIX!!! READ READ READ!

ACS students are the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge champs for the 5th consecutive year!

ACS is the top school in the state for the fifth year in a row in the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge. Our students rock! Overall, our school logged 672,794 reading minutes and finished in the top 40 worldwide. We are so proud of our students, and all of their hard work! Just because summer is over, doesn't mean you should stop reading. Keep up the good work! Representatives from Scholastic visited our campus on November 8th to present us with our official award plaque and banner. A huge thank you goes out to our librarian, Mrs. Doumit, for coordinating this program every year.

Welcome Father Jeffrey Waldrep

ACS would like to welcome Rev. Jeffrey Waldrep, STL, JCL, to our FAMILY! We are so excited that he is joining us as our new Pastor.

Fr. Jeffrey was born and raised in West Point, Mississippi. He received a liberal arts degree from St. Joseph Seminary/College in Covington, LA, a master’s degree in theology and a licentiate degree in systematic theology from St. Mary of the Lake Seminary, Mundelein, IL. He later received a licentiate in canon law from St. Paul University, Ottawa, Canada. Over the past 27 years Fr. Jeffrey has been blessed to serve in eight parishes, work with Engaged Encounter for 9 years and has been Judicial Vicar for the Diocese of Jackson, MS for the past 9 years. Presently Fr. Jeffrey feels blessed that he can continue his ministry in and through the Tribunal, while also serving a Pastor of Annunciation Parish and Annunciation Catholic School, Columbus, MS. Over the past couple of years his hobbies have included gardening, jiu jitsu, cooking and being more proficient with social media.
